Record a conversation
You can record a meeting or a conversation. It is turned into a transcript with the speakers marked, a short summary and a list of suggested action items.
Before you record
Tell everyone that they are being recorded. In many places recording someone without telling them is against the law. You confirm this each time you start a recording.
What happens to a recording
- The recording uploads in parts. If the connection drops, the upload carries on from where it stopped.
- Speakers are labelled by letter in each part. You can rename them.
- Action items are only suggestions. Nothing is sent to an employee until you choose to send an item.
- The audio is deleted once the transcript is ready, unless you choose to keep it for 7 or 30 days.
- Transcripts are kept for a year unless you choose a different time. Shortening it also applies to recordings you already have.
- Each recording is encrypted with its own key. Deleting a recording deletes it for good.
If it doesn't work
- "Confirm that everyone knows they're being recorded." Confirm it, then start the recording again.
- "Part of the recording hasn't arrived yet." Keep the app open until the upload finishes.
- "This recording is still being transcribed." Try again in a minute.
- If it keeps happening, report it. See Report a problem.
