When a computer is busy

You may see "This computer is busy with another task." It means the computer is working on something and cannot take what you just asked for.

What to do

  1. Open the employee's Computer tab to see what it is doing. See Watch an employee's computer.
  2. Wait for the task to finish. The message says to try again when it does.
  3. If you do not want to wait, stop the employee. While it works, an empty message box turns into Stop.
  4. Try again.

When your employee is still on a task in this chat

You may see "Your employee is still on a task in this chat." when you resume from an earlier action in the Activity tab. Resuming starts new work on the same screen, so it can't start while the employee is still working in that chat or waiting for your answer there. See Review and resume past actions.

  1. If the employee asked you a question in the chat, answer it and let the task finish.
  2. If you do not want to wait, stop the employee. While it works, an empty message box turns into Stop.
  3. Choose "Resume from here" again.

Team computers

A team computer runs several employees at once, each on its own screen. When every screen is in use, the next employee waits in line. See Share a computer between employees.

If it doesn't work

  • If the computer shows no work and the message stays, close the Computer tab, open it again, and retry.
  • If you were taking control, check that nobody else has it. See Take control of a computer.
  • If it keeps happening, report it. See Report a problem.
