Cloud computers and your own

Each employee works on a real computer in the cloud. It opens apps, runs commands, browses websites and fills in forms there, and you can watch it work.

Kinds of computer

  • Cloud Linux: the default, included with your plan. Chats and team computers run on it.
  • Cloud Windows and Cloud Mac: coming soon. They are listed in Settings › Computer › Cloud computer, marked Not available yet.
  • Your own computer: connect your Mac, Windows PC or Linux computer in Settings › Computer › Devices and employees can use it too. See Connect a computer.

Settings › Computer › Cloud computer, under Where each employee runs, shows which computer each employee uses and whether it is awake or asleep.

Watch it and take over

Open the employee's chat and the Computer tab to see the live screen. Choose Take Control to use it yourself, and Hand Back when you're done. See Take control of a computer.

Sleep and capacity

A computer sleeps when it isn't needed and starts by itself when work needs it. Only so many computers can be awake at once; if all are in use you see "There's no free computer right now. Nothing was lost." and the work starts when one is free. See When there is no free computer.

Several employees can share one named team computer. See Share a computer between employees.

What an employee can do here

It can list computers, move itself or a teammate to another computer, and rename a team computer when you ask.
