How memory works

Your employees remember things about you, your work and your Spaces, so you do not repeat yourself. Learning happens quietly in the background.

What gets remembered

  • Facts you state, such as "Call me Alec".
  • Corrections, preferences and details about your work.
  • Lessons from tasks that went well or badly.

Small talk is not remembered. Orders found in emails, web pages or files are never saved as instructions. If something outside says what to do, memory records only that the source said it.

Layers

Memory is kept in layers: about you, each employee, each Space, and a company layer for teams. A shared employee never reads your About me layer. Sensitive memories are stored separately and are never put in a shared layer.

Tidying

At night, memory merges duplicates, resolves contradictions in favour of what you said most recently, and lets old unused details fade. Things you stated yourself and anything you pinned do not fade.

You stay in control

You can see, edit, undo and forget anything. See Explore your memory map. Your own instructions to an employee are never rewritten. The employee keeps its own "Learned" section.

If it doesn't work

  • If a save is refused as unsafe, the memory looked like an instruction coming from outside. This protects you. Tell the employee directly if you want it saved.
  • If memory seems to ignore something, open the map and look for it. It may have been merged with a similar memory.
