Search across the app

Search finds employees, Spaces, files, conversations and past chats from one place.

  1. On a Mac, press Command and K. Or choose Search at the top of the sidebar. On a phone, tap the Search button in the top bar.
  2. Type at least two letters. One letter shows only places in the app, with a hint to keep typing.
  3. Use the up and down arrow keys, then Return, to open a result. Escape clears the field, then closes search.

Results are grouped by kind. Names that start with what you typed come first. Matching ignores capital letters and accents in names.

What search covers

  • Your own employees.
  • Spaces you belong to, and files inside them.
  • Your conversations and past chats.
  • Settings pages.

Search never reads private memories. It also skips cards, forms and tool output, and looks only at the text of messages.

Recent searches

Recent items are kept on this device only. Employees or Spaces you can no longer open are hidden from the list.

If it doesn't work

  • "Some results couldn't load" means one source was slow. The other results are still correct. Try again in a moment.
  • "No results" can mean the words are in a file in a Space you have not used lately. File search covers up to 20 Spaces, most recently changed first.
  • If Command and K opens a different, simpler palette, the new search is not turned on for your account yet.
