Choose what each plugin tool may do

Every tool a plugin offers has its own permission. Set it on the plugin's page, in Tools.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, then Plugins, and open the plugin.
  2. In Tools, the ones that make changes come first. Read-only tools are below them.
  3. Next to a tool, choose one:
  • Ask. Your employee shows you a card in chat before every use, and waits for your OK.
  • Always allow. It runs without asking.
  • Don't allow. Your employee can't use it. It is told so, and won't try another way.
  1. The choice saves at once.

Read-only tools start on Always allow. Tools that make changes start on the plugin's "Before making changes" choice.

Before making changes

This is a quick setting for every tool that makes changes:

  • Always allow sets all of them to Always allow.
  • Ask every time sets all of them to Ask.
  • Custom shows when you have set some of them one by one. Choose Always allow or Ask every time to set them all again.

Read-only tools keep their own choices.

Emails always start as drafts

An email from Gmail, Outlook, another email plugin or your employee's own address starts as a draft for your OK. This happens even when the plugin or the tool is on Always allow. To let employees send from an account without asking, choose Send without asking for that account.

On the permission card

The card shows the plugin's logo and name, so you can see whose account it is about. Always allow on the card stops asking for that plugin.

If it doesn't work

  • A tool on Don't allow is refused before anything happens. Your employee tells you it couldn't use it.
  • Some cards still show on Always allow: an email in Draft for my approval, a purchase, a rule of yours that asks, or work nobody started from chat.
  • If a save is refused, the choice goes back and says why.
