Phone numbers and calls
Employees can phone you, and an employee can have its own phone number that people can call. Both are in Settings › Integrations › Phone numbers.
Let employees call you
- Under Your number, enter your mobile number and choose Send Code.
- Type the 6-digit code from the text and choose Confirm.
Now an employee can ring you when something needs you, or when you say "call me". It says at the start that it is an AI, and the transcript and a summary appear in the chat afterwards. Each call has a time limit, shown on the page, and an employee can make up to 6 calls an hour.
To let employees call other people, turn on "Let employees ask to call other people". You approve every call before it rings.
Give an employee its own number
- In Phone numbers, choose Add Number. You can ask for an area code (US and Canada).
- Choose Add for $5 a Month.
A number costs $5 a month. Calls cost 5¢ a minute and texts 3¢ each. These prices are not final.
- Only External employees can have a number. Make an employee External in its Advanced settings.
- Only owners and admins can add or change numbers, and your plan must include phone numbers (Max includes one).
- Change Employee moves a number to another employee. Give Back Number releases it for good.
- Recent calls and Recent texts are listed under each number.
Calls and texts to the number
When someone calls the number, the employee answers in its own voice. Only you and your approved contacts get through; anyone else is turned away. Calls last up to 10 minutes. Settings › Integrations › Approved contacts lists the people every External employee may talk with.
Texting is coming soon: texts start once the texting registration is approved. Calls work now.
What an employee can do here
It can call you, ask to call someone else (you approve each call), and send texts to you or approved contacts once texting is on. It honours STOP.
