Choose what employees ask you first
Employees work on their own and only stop to ask you when something is really yours to decide.
What asks and what doesn't
Open Settings › Employees › Permissions. Each kind of action has two choices:
- Ask me first: the employee shows you a card and waits for your tap.
- Don't ask: every employee does it without a card.
These start on Ask me first: purchases and payments, sending or posting outside, deleting, sharing outside your company, account and security changes, and signing or clicking to accept an agreement. Harmful or unsafe requests stay on Never.
Two things are always the same:
- Passwords and sign-in codes always ask. Employees sign in only with passwords you saved.
- Reading, looking things up and working inside your workspace never ask. That includes listing your employees, reading files, splitting work into parts and messaging each other.
Restore defaults puts every choice back.
For one plugin or one of its tools, set its own rule in Settings › Plugins. This page covers the kinds of actions across all of them.
What employees don't stop for
- Routine planning. An employee won't ask "Split this into 7 parts?". It just starts, as long as the estimate is under your Spending "Show an estimate first" amount.
- A website notice that only says using the site means you agree to its terms. Clicking a box or button to accept still asks.
- When an employee needs you on its computer, the card says why in one line, such as "A robot check needs a person."
You don't have to answer
- Type a new message instead, or say it on a call. Your new message replaces the open question, and the employee follows it.
- Another employee can answer a plain question for you, for example the CEO telling Web-Scout which listing to use. Permissions, passwords and the computer always need your own tap.
- A question nobody answers expires after a day. It then shows only the question, marked Expired, and nothing counts it as waiting.
Does anyone need me?
Ask any employee "Does anyone need me?". It lists what is still waiting for you across all your employees, and it can message the right employee to handle a plain question.
If it doesn't work
- If you don't see Permissions in Settings, it isn't turned on for your account yet.
- If a card keeps coming back after Don't ask, the action may be one that always asks, such as a password.
